The book of effective weight loss secrets is chock full of small changes that spin your entire perspective on health on a dime.
As you begin to make these important adjustments to your life and health habits you will begin to notice that the biggest –and perhaps the hardest– part to maintaining that loss is if one continuously makes the small healthy decisions rather than killing themself at the gym later.
The following are some of these important adjustments that can be made with very little change to your schedule or diet — but will give you the foundation for a more healthy lifestyle as you progress on your way to your ideal weight and figure.
1. Eating Habits
It’s not just about processed foods vs. fruits and veggies –although this is a good start– it’s also about the snacking habits you have, how you react to the feeling of hunger and nutritional balance of your food intake in general.
Start by regulating your eating schedule –balanced meal times and no irregular snackings. This in itself will reveal a lot about the food habits you have.
2. Plan Your Success
By planning your nutrition around the energy demands your daily activities demand you will trim the fat –so to speak– from your nutritional surplus. Any food your body doesn’t need it has to transform for future use –this requires energy and it is usually transformed into fat.
3. Don’t Go Shopping Hungry
Not only does shopping hungry cost a lot more — but it can make the cravings that much harder to resist as you are being compelled perpetually by visual stimuli telling you to sample the tasty baked goods or grab a milkshake.
4. Eat Sitting Down
Make your mealtimes a sacred part of you daily rituals — you needn’t necessarily “pray” over the food but clearing the mind of anxiety before partaking on you repast is certainly better for the digestion than brooding “Ebenezer Scrooge” style over your gruel in solitude –no wonder he had issues.
This does not mean collapsing on the couch to eat either. Maintaining a healthy posture is another big part of good digestion. Eat in the dining room – that’s what that big room is for.
Confucius also adds: Never Sit to Eat Alone… this is very good advice.
5. Serve a Plate- Don’t Eat From the Pot
Serving yourself from the pot in the kitchen is a good way to increase awareness of portion sizes and feelings of being satisfied. Food on the table is screaming to be eaten and our tummies are quite responsive. Reduce the temptation…. Serve Plates!
6. Eat Slowly and Savor Every Bite
It takes the stomach twenty minutes to register that it has eaten enough and communicate this to the brain. So pace yourself, enjoy every bite and remember the importance of really chewing your food. A good way to set the pace is by laying down your tools..er.. silverware every 3rd or 4th bite.
By practicing these weight loss secrets, you will positively affect the digestive system. If your body can expect regular nutritious portions of healthy food — prepared and eaten with due contemplation and ceremony — you can expect to shed your weight much quicker and lead to more permanent weight loss.
